I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. I made my journey to the United States in the summer of 1996 to study filmmaking. As much as I loved movies and wanted to have a career in the film industry, I had a change of mind and received my Bachelor's degree in marketing with minors in advertising and psychology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Yes, I admit, the first years were not an easy adjustment to the freezing winter months! Between you and I, it is still an adjustment when January and February come along.
Fast forward to now and I am married to a wonderful soul whose support and love is beyond this world. We are blessed with two amazing spirits, Ayla and Azra, who keep us growing and who push us to be the best versions of our true selves every day. If it were not for my husband and for my daughters, Pump It Up Bars would never have been realized. As a family we are very healthy and environmentally conscious. After having Azra, I found myself craving healthy snacks throughout the day which were nutritious to me and also supported my milk supply and therefore nourished my daughter. There was hardly anything out on the market for a healthy snack that supported and nourished the mother and her baby. One thing for sure is that having a chef husband came in very handy! My first lactation cookie was baked in our house three years ago. At that time the thought came to me that I should share it with other moms. Since our first batch, my husband and I have worked on the recipe on and off for three years to make it even more delicious and nutritious. Over the years the recipe and the shape have evolved from a cookie to a bar.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. I am so blessed to have a village of dear sister friends whose continuous support and encouragement helped me to take Pump It Up Bars to the next level and create a company. Let me share one special thing: to bring Pump It Up Bars to you meant I had to work on my hidden fears of getting out there. What a journey it has been so far! I am so thrilled and excited to continue on this journey bringing the best lactation bar product to you, your baby and your family. I want you to have a go-to snack you feel great after eating, knowing that it is made from the best ingredients. As much as Pump It Up Bars are meant to support your milk supply, they are good for any mother. In fact, they are good for everyone in your family, if you are willing to share! :)
With love and light,
